Primary School Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing from September 2026
This Primary School Teacher role offers the opportunity to work in a specialist setting that supports pupils with hearing needs through clear structure, inclusive practice, and strong communication. The Primary School Teacher will join a collaborative team that values consistency, patience, and high-quality teaching. While British Sign Language is not required, clear verbal and non-verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role.Duties as Primary School Teacher:
  • Plan and deliver engaging primary lessons tailored to pupils with communication and additional learning needs
  • Use clear, consistent communication strategies to support pupil understanding and engagement
  • Create a calm, inclusive, and well-structured classroom environment
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs and learning styles
  • Work closely with support staff and specialist colleagues to support pupil progress
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress in line with school expectations
  • Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Maintain safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Primary School Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching in a primary setting
  • Strong, clear communication skills and a calm teaching approach
  • Willingness to work within a specialist or inclusive education setting
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning and communication needs
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
