Job Description:
Our client is a highly innovative machinery manufacturer that designs and builds bespoke equipment to improve productivity and efficiency across a specialist sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on bespoke machinery projects from concept through to manufacture, combining mechanical design, fabrication, automation, and robotics technologies.
The RoleAs a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
- Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Design bespoke machinery and equipment from concept through to production.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
- Develop sheet metal, fabrication, and mechanical assemblies.
- Support the integration of automation and robotic systems into machinery designs.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Take ownership of projects and contribute to continuous product development and innovation.
- Strong SolidWorks and 3D CAD experience.
- Previous experience designing machinery, special purpose equipment, or capital equipment.
- Good understanding of fabrication, welding, and sheet metal design.
- A practical, hands-on engineering mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to take designs from initial concept through to manufacture.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a growing engineering team.
- Experience within agricultural machinery, mobile equipment, or a similar machinery manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of automation, robotics, or automated machinery systems.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, or electro-mechanical systems.
