Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: UK-based with international travel
Travel: Majority overseas

We’re currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering business supporting projects on a global scale. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working on-site, commissioning equipment, and seeing projects through from installation to final handover. The position involves significant international travel and will play a key role in ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operating as intended across customer sites worldwide.

As a Field Service & Commissioning Engineer, you will:

• Carry out on-site commissioning activities across international customer sites
• Perform device setup, I/O checks, and software fault finding
• Support installation, testing, and final system handover
• Work from and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and process drawings
• Follow structured test procedures and complete documented testing
• Carry out device calibration and system validation
• Identify and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and process systems
• Work closely with internal engineering teams and customer representatives

We’re looking for a Field Service Engineer with strong commissioning and fault-finding experience: You will ideally have:

• Experience in commissioning or field service engineering within the process engineering industry 
• Strong understanding of process engineering principles
• Experience with device setup, I/O checks, and software fault finding
• The ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, GA drawings and P&IDs
• Experience following documented test procedures and structured testing
• Knowledge of device calibration and validation processes
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capability
• A flexible approach and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods

The successful Field Service & Commissioning Engineer will ideally hold the below qualifications:

• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Time-served apprenticeship or similar practical training
• Previous experience working within a relevant engineering or process environment
