Job Description:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the production and continuous improvement of complex electronic products. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure efficient manufacturing methods, robust production processes, and high-quality output across the product lifecycle.
The role combines hands-on engineering support with process development, problem-solving, and continuous improvement activities within a technology-focused manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain manufacturing methods to support efficient and repeatable production.
- Provide technical support to production teams, resolving process and product-related issues.
- Work with engineering teams to introduce new products and design changes into manufacturing.
- Create and maintain production documentation, assembly instructions, and technical procedures.
- Investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to improve quality and performance.
- Support product testing, verification, and validation activities.
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and process improvements to enhance productivity.
- Analyse production performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Support compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations.
- Assist in the evaluation and introduction of new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
- Degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience within a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of electronic assemblies and manufacturing processes.
- Practical problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Experience supporting product introduction or process transfer activities.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
- Familiarity with production test equipment and data analysis.
- Experience within a regulated or high-reliability manufacturing sector.
- Understanding of quality management systems and root cause analysis methodologies.
