Music Teacher – Full-time, temporary to permanent from September 2026

This Music Teacher role offers the opportunity to work full time within a supportive secondary school setting on a temporary to permanent basis from September 2026. The Music Teacher will deliver high-quality music education that develops pupils’ creativity, technical skills, and appreciation of music across the curriculum. This role is ideal for a committed Music Teacher seeking long-term stability and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.Duties as Music Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across the secondary age range
- Teach Music in line with the national curriculum and examination specifications where applicable
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Develop pupils’ practical, theoretical, and performance skills
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform teaching
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to support pupil attainment
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of pupils with a range of abilities
- Work collaboratively with the Music department and wider staff team
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
- Support extracurricular music activities such as ensembles, performances, or clubs where appropriate
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Music at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Music education
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to motivate and engage pupils of varying abilities
- Organised, reflective, and committed to continuous improvement
- Willingness to commit to a temporary role with the opportunity to become permanent
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
