This role is ideal for a committed Social Science Teacher seeking long-term stability and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.Social Science Teacher responsibilities sit at the heart of the school’s academic provision, supporting students’ progress and enthusiasm for the social sciences.Duties as Social Science Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging Psychology and Sociology lessons across relevant key stages
- Teach in line with examination specifications and curriculum requirements
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform teaching
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to support student attainment
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of learners with a range of abilities
- Encourage discussion, critical thinking, and independent learning
- Work collaboratively with the Social Sciences department and wider staff team
- Contribute to curriculum development and shared resources
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Psychology and or Sociology at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for the social sciences
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
- Organised, reflective, and committed to continuous improvement
- Willingness to commit to a temporary role with the opportunity to become permanent
