HLTA – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing from September 2026

This HLTA role offers a full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing opportunity from September 2026, supporting pupils across a Year 2 and Year 3 setting. The HLTA will play a key role in delivering high-quality learning support, working closely with class teachers to maintain continuity, structure, and progress across Lower Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 1 transition. This role is ideal for an experienced HLTA who enjoys responsibility, variety, and making a meaningful impact on pupils’ learning and confidence.Duties as HLTA:
- Deliver learning activities for Year 2 and Year 3 pupils under the direction of the class teacher
- Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
- Cover classes when required, ensuring continuity of teaching and learning
- Support planning, preparation, and assessment activities as directed
- Assist with monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teaching staff
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, well-managed classroom environment
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and wider staff
- Support transitions between lessons and activities
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
- Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting or delivering learning in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
- Confident leading lessons and working independently when required
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Adaptable, organised, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
