This SENCO Teacher role offers a full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing opportunity from September 2026 within a supportive school setting. The SENCO Teacher will combine high-quality classroom teaching with leadership responsibility for special educational needs provision, ensuring inclusive practice and effective support for pupils with SEND. This role is ideal for an experienced SENCO Teacher who is passionate about inclusion and able to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals.Duties as SENCO Teacher:
- Lead and manage SEND provision across the school in line with statutory requirements
- Teach and support pupils, ensuring inclusive practice within the classroom
- Identify pupils with SEND and coordinate appropriate interventions and support plans
- Oversee Education, Health and Care Plans and review processes
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement effective strategies
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support pupil progress
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND provision and interventions
- Maintain accurate SEND records and contribute to whole-school improvement
- Support staff development and promote inclusive teaching practice
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status
- Holds, or is working towards, the National Award for SEN Coordination
- Proven experience in a SENCO or SEND leadership role
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive practice
- Confident classroom teacher with effective behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Passionate, reflective, and committed to continuous improvement
