Attendance Officer, long-term temporary and ongoing, starting asap

 

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-regarded primary school for a dedicated Attendance Officer to join their team on a full-time, long-term temporary basis, starting as soon as possible.

This is a good-rated primary school with Outstanding behaviour and attitudes and early years provision. The school is part of a supportive trust and is known for its strong leadership, inclusive ethos, and commitment to ensuring every child succeeds.

Duties as Attendance Officer:
  • Monitoring daily pupil attendance and punctuality
  • Following up absences and working closely with parents/carers
  • Maintaining accurate attendance records and producing reports
  • Identifying trends and supporting intervention strategies
  • Liaising with staff and external agencies where required
Ideal Attendance Officer:
  • Previous experience in a school or attendance-related role
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Experience with systems such as SIMS (desirable)
  • A proactive and empathetic approach when working with families
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
