A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greenwich is seeking several dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across all year groups.
The Role
These are full-time positions working during school hours. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with a range of identified special educational needs.
The needs of the children vary and may include:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Moderate learning difficulties
- Social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 support within the classroom
- Delivering targeted interventions to support learning and development
- Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and engagement
- Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to plan and deliver effective support strategies
- Helping prepare learning activities and resources
The school is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants who:
- Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (desirable but not essential)
- Are passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
- Have patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Are committed to inclusive education and helping every child succeed
The School
The modern, forward-thinking school is part of a federation of schools across the borough of Greenwich. The school is accessible by car and has parking on site. It is also located close mainland rail stations with local bus links. As a 2 form entry site, teachers and teaching assistants within the year group work closely together in planning and assessment for their respective year groups. They have a focus on closing the gap for disadvantaged pupils and provide a broad range of extra-curriculum opportunities.
