Warehouse Operative – Nightshift (Counterbalance FLT)

Location: Darwen, Blackburn
Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 Basic Discretionary Bonus
Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 4:00 pm – 1:30 am
• Friday: 2:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Our client is one of the UK's leading distributors of thermoplastic sheet, rod and tubing, supplying customers throughout the fabrication, engineering and signage industries. Backed by a globally recognised manufacturer of acrylic products, they have built an excellent reputation for quality, service and reliability.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join their busy nightshift team at their modern distribution centre in Darwen.

The Role

Working as part of a busy warehouse team, your responsibilities will include:

• Receiving and unloading deliveries
• Picking, packing and loading customer orders accurately
• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
• Carrying out stock checks and stock movements
• Ensuring products are stored in the correct warehouse locations
• Completing quality checks on incoming and outgoing goods
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
• Following all company Health & Safety procedures at all times
• Supporting the wider warehouse team to ensure customer orders are dispatched on time

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A valid Counterbalance FLT licence (essential)
• Previous warehouse experience within a busy distribution environment
• Experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck confidently and safely
• Good understanding of warehouse Health & Safety procedures
• Strong attention to detail
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• A hardworking approach and good level of physical fitness

Experience operating Schelling saws or CNC cutting machinery would be an advantage, although full training will be provided for the right person.
