Year 2 Teaching Assistant – Long term temporary, full-time starting September 2026

Duties as a Year 2 Teaching Assistant:

 

• Supporting pupils within the classroom environment
• Delivering interventions and small-group activities
• Assisting with phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy support
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Supporting the individual needs of pupils where required
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and parents

Ideal Year 2 Teaching Assistant:

• Previous experience working within a primary school setting
• Experience supporting Key Stage 1 pupils is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, enthusiastic, and nurturing approach
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
