Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Ruddington
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

A fantastic opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a global leader in advanced materials and high-performance engineered components. With over 15 manufacturing sites worldwide and annual revenues exceeding £400 million, the business supplies precision-engineered products into the aerospace, defence, semiconductor, energy and industrial sectors

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Analyse production performance and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity and process capability
  • Lead root cause investigations into manufacturing, safety and quality issues, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions
  • Manage capital expenditure projects from quotation through to installation, validation and production implementation
  • Support the introduction of new products (NPI), equipment and manufacturing processes into production
  • Identify and deliver automation opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency
  • Drive Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the value stream
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, process instructions and engineering standards
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to deliver operational objectives


Manufacturing Engineer Experience:

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline (Essential)
  • Previous experience within a precision engineering business (Essential)
  • Previous experience within a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer or Continuous Improvement Engineer position
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Experience using structured problem-solving techniques including DMAIC, PFMEA and Process Mapping
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes within a precision engineering or advanced manufacturing environment
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Practitioner certification would be advantageous
