We are delighted to be supporting a leading manufacturing business in Diss in their search for a Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their day-shift engineering team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys fault finding, solving complex technical problems, and being the engineer that others turn to when they get stuck.
The successful Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer will play a key role within the team, acting as an escalation point for more complex electrical faults while supporting reliability improvements across a busy manufacturing site.
The Role
As a Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will spend the majority of your time working hands-on with production machinery, supporting electrical fault finding, breakdown resolution, and equipment reliability.
Whilst this is not a PLC programming role, the successful candidate will be comfortable using PLCs and HMIs as part of the fault-finding process and will be able to diagnose issues across automated machinery and control systems.
You will also support small improvement projects and help drive reliability and continuous improvement initiatives across site.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical fault finding on manufacturing machinery
- Supporting breakdown and reactive maintenance activities
- Acting as an escalation point for more complex technical faults
- Diagnosing faults using PLCs and HMIs
- Working on motors, drives, inverters, sensors, and control systems
- Reading and fault-finding from electrical schematics and drawings
- Supporting planned maintenance activities
- Assisting with machinery upgrades and improvement projects
- Supporting other engineers with technical guidance when required
Experience Required
To be successful in this Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer position, you will ideally have:
- A strong background in electrical maintenance within manufacturing
- Experience fault finding on production or automated machinery
- Confidence reading electrical drawings and schematics
- Experience using PLCs and HMIs for troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Knowledge of motors, drives, inverters, contactors, relays, and control circuits
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of issues
What's On Offer?
- Salary up to £50,000
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- Early finish every Friday
- No call-out or on-call requirement
- Private healthcare
- Ongoing training and development
- Stable and supportive engineering team
- Long-term career opportunity within a well-established manufacturing business
If you're a Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys fault finding, working on machinery, and solving technical problems rather than simply replacing parts, we'd love to hear from you.
