Lead Flexographic Printer

Location: Brighouse
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

We're recruiting on behalf of a long-established manufacturer who are looking to add an experienced Lead Flexographic Printer to their production team.

The Role

You'll be responsible for operating and maintaining a wide web flexographic printing press, ensuring production runs efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards.

In addition to running the press, you'll act as the day-to-day lead within the print department . You'll be the main point of contact for the print team, helping to coordinate workloads, communicate production priorities and ensure the department runs as efficiently as possible.

Working within a small, close-knit team, you'll be expected to lead by example, support colleagues and be happy to get involved wherever required.

Working Hours

The company operates an annualised hours system, meaning your hours will vary throughout the year depending on production demands. During busier periods you'll work additional hours, while quieter periods will see reduced hours – all while receiving the same monthly salary. Overtime is also available.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a wide web flexographic printing press.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the print department.
  • Review production plans and communicate any potential issues or challenges.
  • Help coordinate workloads and shift patterns to meet production requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve machine uptime and reduce waste.
  • Ensure production records and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Monitor print quality and carry out routine quality and health & safety checks.
  • Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance with engineering teams.
  • Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering and Commercial teams to ensure customer deadlines are achieved.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the department.

About You

  • Previous experience operating flexographic printing machinery is essential.
  • Experience operating wide web flexographic presses would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience leading or mentoring colleagues would be beneficial, although applicants looking to take their first step into a lead position are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a genuine passion for producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A team player who enjoys supporting colleagues and leading by example.
  • Flexible approach and willing to support the wider department when required.
  • Positive attitude with a proactive, continuous improvement mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
