Junior Project Engineer
Are you a Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering graduate, or an engineer with a year or two of industry experience, looking for a varied role where you'll gain exposure to the complete engineering project lifecycle?
We're recruiting a Junior Project Engineer to join an established engineering business that designs, manufactures and supports bespoke industrial process equipment used across critical infrastructure and large-scale engineering projects throughout the UK and Europe.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive engineering team where you'll receive full product training whilst developing your skills in project engineering, mechanical and electrical design, commissioning, technical support and customer-facing engineering.
What You'll Be Doing as a Junior Project Engineer:
- Supporting engineering projects from design through to installation and commissioning.
- Coordinating installations with customers and contractors.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for bespoke equipment.
- Assisting with commissioning and site visits across the UK (with occasional European travel).
- Supporting quotations, engineering documentation and technical proposals.
- Working closely with manufacturing, suppliers and customers to deliver successful projects.
- Carrying out equipment inspections and supporting continuous product improvements.
What We're Looking For in a Junior Project Engineer:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles.
- Good problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience with process equipment, industrial systems or water treatment.
- AutoCAD or other CAD software.
- Knowledge of PLCs or control systems.
