KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary School, temporary and ongoing starting September 2026

Duties as KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND
  • Supporting pupils to access the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • Assisting with academic, social, and emotional development
  • Implementing interventions and support strategies
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, and parents
  • Supporting the creation of an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Ideal KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND
  • Experience working within a primary school setting is desirable
  • Knowledge of autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs is beneficial
  • Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
