Role Overview – CNC Setter Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Operator to join a well-established precision engineering business in High Wycombe. This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer with a strong background in the manufacture of compression springs, tension springs, torsion springs and wireforms.

The successful candidate will have proven experience setting, operating and optimising CNC spring-making machinery, taking responsibility for machine setup, tooling, production quality and process improvements. You will play a key role in ensuring customer specifications are met while maintaining high standards of efficiency, accuracy and workmanship throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Duties – CNC Operator

• Manufacture compression springs, tension springs, torsion springs and wireforms to customer specifications and tolerances
• Set, operate and adjust CNC spring-making machines to achieve optimal production output
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and production requirements
• Carry out tooling changes, machine setup and process adjustments where required
• Perform metal forming and manipulation processes using a variety of workshop equipment and hand tools
• Operate additional workshop machinery including mills, lathes, grinders and guillotines as required
• Inspect, measure and verify finished components using appropriate measuring equipment
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to maintain quality and efficiency

Requirements – CNC Operator

• Proven experience manufacturing compression springs, tension springs, torsion springs and/or wireforms
• Experience operating and setting CNC spring-making machines
• Strong understanding of spring manufacturing processes and tooling
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications
• Experience using precision measuring equipment and quality inspection processes
• Good mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills
• Experience within a precision engineering or metalworking environment
