Are you a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a supportive and welcoming primary school?
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in the London Borough of Bexley from September 2026. This is a full-time opportunity to become an integral member of the school's support team, working closely with teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
This role would suit someone who is passionate about education, enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and is committed to making a positive difference in children's lives.
The Role
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to provide high-quality classroom support, helping to create an engaging, inclusive and nurturing learning environment. You may support the whole class, deliver small group interventions or provide targeted support to individual pupils depending on the needs of the school.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to support pupils across different year groups and contribute to all aspects of school life.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils during whole-class lessons to maximise engagement and progress.
- Delivering small group and targeted interventions in English, Maths and other curriculum areas.
- Providing additional support for pupils with SEND, EAL or those requiring extra guidance.
- Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and learning resources.
- Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.
- Promoting positive behaviour and supporting the school's behaviour policy.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to class teachers.
- Supporting pupils during breaktimes, educational visits and wider school activities where required.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and parents to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.
The School
This welcoming and inclusive primary school is committed to providing a safe, inspiring and nurturing environment where every child can flourish. With a strong focus on high-quality teaching, pupil wellbeing and personal development, the school prides itself on fostering a culture of respect, ambition and collaboration.
Staff are supported through excellent leadership, ongoing professional development and a genuine commitment to staff wellbeing. Working as part of a dedicated and experienced team, you'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils and play a key role in helping them succeed throughout their primary education.
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
- Previous experience working within a UK primary school.
- A strong understanding of child development and the primary curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, proactive and nurturing approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team while using your own initiative.
- A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.
Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) would be beneficial but is not essential.
Why Apply?
- Join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Bexley.
- Work as part of an experienced and collaborative staff team.
- Opportunity to make a real impact on pupils' learning and development.
- Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Long-term role with the potential for a permanent position.
