Are you a qualified primary teacher looking for flexible supply work in South London? Whether you're looking for part-time teaching, a better work-life balance, the opportunity to work closer to home or the chance to get to know local schools before committing to a longer-term role, supply teaching can offer the flexibility and variety you're looking for.
With over 20 years of established relationships with primary schools across South London, we work closely with a wide network of local schools to provide regular supply opportunities for primary teachers. Our experienced team can help match you with schools and roles that suit your experience, availability and preferred working area.
Supply work can also be an excellent way to build relationships with local schools. Many teachers who begin with daily supply go on to secure longer-term and permanent positions through the connections they make in schools.
The Role
As a Supply Teacher, you will provide high-quality teaching across primary schools in South London, supporting pupils' learning and maintaining a positive and engaging classroom environment. The role offers flexibility, with opportunities ranging from occasional day-to-day supply to regular part-time work. Depending on your availability and preferences, you may work across different year groups and schools, giving you the opportunity to gain valuable experience and build relationships within your local education community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging and effective lessons across the primary curriculum.
- Following lesson plans and school policies to ensure continuity of learning.
- Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
- Adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of different pupils and classes.
- Supporting pupils' progress, engagement and personal development.
- Managing behaviour positively and consistently in line with school expectations.
- Working collaboratively with school staff and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Providing feedback to schools where appropriate regarding pupils' learning and behaviour.
- Contributing positively to the wider life of the school.
The Schools
- We have over 25 years of established relationships with primary schools across South London, allowing us to offer teachers access to a wide range of local supply opportunities.
- Working through supply can be a great way to get to know schools in your local area, experience different school environments and build professional relationships with teachers and school leaders.
- For teachers who are considering their next longer-term role, supply can provide an opportunity to experience a school before making a permanent commitment. Many supply assignments develop into long-term and permanent opportunities when the right fit is found for both the teacher and the school.
- Supply can also be particularly valuable for Early Career Teachers who have not yet secured their ECT induction. Working across local schools can help you gain experience, build confidence and get to know schools in your area while exploring opportunities to complete your induction.

To be considered for supply teaching opportunities, you will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within a UK primary school.
- A strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A flexible, reliable and professional approach.
- The ability to adapt quickly to different schools, year groups and classroom environments.
