Maintenance Engineer
Smethwick
£42,000 - £45,000 DOE
Double Days Shifts, 37.5 hour working week, rotating shifts of 6am – 2pm to 2pm – 10pm.
We are looking for a Mech bias maintenance engineer to join our team of 6 engineers at our growing site in Smethwick. We have an established customer base, exporting goods all around the world. This is a really good opportunity to join a growing business with brilliant stability.
Our site has continually expanded year after year, and we have now incorporated another factory into our industry. With a turnover of £80 million last year, we are looking for another maintenance engineer to help support our growth.
The work done will be 80/20 mech based, if you have some electrical knowledge. i.e. isolate safely, change a sensor and have some formal of electrical qualifcaiton that would be great, but not a deal breaker.

Responsibilities as a mechanical maintenance engineer:
- Maintenance of equipment throughout the manufacturing site, with the ability
- required to fault find, diagnose, and rectify problems.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance tasks
- Installation of machinery and services.
- Involvement in continuous improvement projects.
- Entry of completed task details onto PC based maintenance system.
- Day to day you’ll be repairing and maintaining hydraulics/pneumatics systems, presses, rolling mills, guillotines and CNC machines.
Experience Required for the mechanical maintenance engineer:
- Minimum of 3 years industrial experience as a mechanical maintenance engineer.
- would look at an engineer with no qualifications if you demonstrate proven experience - ideally be level 2/3
- Good understanding of hydraulics/pneumatics systems, gearboxes, pulleys, straps, belts, chains etc.
