We're working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business with over 100 years of heritage, supplying bespoke electrical and electromechanical equipment into demanding marine and defence environments. They have built an excellent reputation for quality, technical expertise and long-term customer relationships.
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll join a collaborative engineering team where you'll support manufacturing activities in Milton Keynes when not travelling to customer sites. The role offers genuine variety, technical challenge and long-term career development.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Field Service Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Fault finding, testing, commissioning and servicing electrical and electromechanical equipment
- Providing technical support to customers, project teams and production personnel
- Reviewing and updating electrical schematics, wiring information and manufacturing documentation
- Producing detailed service reports and identifying opportunities for product improvements
- Working independently on customer sites while maintaining excellent communication with colleagues and customers
This Field Service Engineer role offers the opportunity to work on specialist equipment used onboard ships and submarines, with UK travel and occasional overseas visits. When not attending site, the Field Service Engineer will support manufacturing, testing and engineering activities from the Milton Keynes facility.
Key Requirements
To be considered for this Field Service Engineer role, you will need:
- Strong electrical fault-finding and testing experience
- Experience commissioning, servicing or maintaining electrical or electromechanical equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work on your own initiative
- Full UK driving licence and eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC) and a passport for occasional overseas travel

- Salary: £40,000 – £50,000
- 37.25 hrs a week. Working 8.15am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.15am to 12.30pm on a Friday – 30-minute unpaid lunch break
