An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a well-established and growing contractor specialising in passive fire protection and compliance works. This is a key leadership role based in Medway, offering the chance to take ownership of commercial performance across a portfolio of projects while working alongside a highly experienced operational team.

The RoleAs Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial function across multiple fire protection projects, ensuring contracts are delivered profitably while maintaining strong client relationships and commercial governance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the commercial management of passive fire protection and compliance projects.
- Managing applications for payment, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Producing accurate cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates.
- Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and contract administration.
- Working closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability.
- Supporting and mentoring Quantity Surveyors and junior commercial staff.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Ensuring all contractual obligations are met and projects remain commercially compliant.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a commercial leadership role.
- Experience within passive fire protection, fire compliance, construction, social housing, or specialist contracting.
- Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
