SHEQ Advisor

Location: Belvedere
Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join a busy social housing organisation specialising in Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) works. This is a varied role combining hands-on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) responsibilities with general administrative support, making it ideal for a proactive, well-organised individual who enjoys a mix of compliance-focused and office-based tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of SHEQ policies and procedures across the business
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, with a focus on fire safety and FRA-related works
  • Assist with incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and corrective action tracking
  • Ensure compliance with current health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation and industry standards
  • Maintain accurate SHEQ records, registers, and documentation
  • Support ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 management system requirements (where applicable)
  • Assist with toolbox talks, training coordination, and staff inductions
  • Provide general administrative support, including data entry, report preparation, diary management, and correspondence
  • Liaise with site teams, contractors, and clients on SHEQ matters
  • Help prepare for and support internal/external audits and inspections
Qualifications & Requirements

To work as a SHEQ Advisor, candidates should hold (or be working towards) the following:

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (essential)
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification (desirable)
  • Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH or working towards GradIOSH/CMIOSH)
  • Environmental qualification such as IEMA (desirable but not essential)
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) management systems
  • Understanding of fire safety regulations and experience with or exposure to Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) is highly advantageous
  • Strong administrative and IT skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence (site visits may be required)
  • Previous experience within the social housing, construction, or facilities management sector is desirable
