Cover Supervisor – Secondary School

Duties as Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise classes during teacher absences
• Deliver pre-planned lesson materials across a range of subjects
• Maintain a calm, productive, and positive learning environment
• Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies
• Ensure students remain engaged and focused on their learning
• Record attendance and report any concerns to relevant staff
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lesson progress and student behaviour

Ideal Cover Supervisor:

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable
• Strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence leading classes independently
• Organised, adaptable, and professional approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
