Teaching Assistant – Primary School

This is a friendly Church of England primary school in Farrington Gurney, catering for pupils aged 4–11, and is part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership. Duties as Teaching Assistant:
  • Support pupils in the classroom on a one-to-one and small-group basis
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude to learning
  • Support children with varying learning needs and abilities
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Assist with classroom preparation and organisation
  • Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable
  • Experience within a school or educational setting is advantageous
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
