Job Description:
The Company
Looking for a role that offers more than just field service work? This is an opportunity to combine hands-on electrical engineering, manufacturing support and customer-facing technical problem solving within a specialist engineering environment.
We're working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business that designs, manufactures and supports bespoke electrical and electromechanical equipment used in demanding marine and defence applications. With over 100 years of heritage, they have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions, technical excellence and long-term customer support.
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll join a collaborative engineering team where you'll support manufacturing, testing and engineering activities from their Milton Keynes facility, while also travelling to customer sites to commission, service and fault-find specialist equipment. This Field Service Engineer role offers excellent variety, technical challenge and long-term career development.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Field Service Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Commissioning, servicing, testing and fault-finding electrical and electromechanical equipment
- Providing technical support to customers, project managers, engineers and production teams
- Reviewing and updating schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials and manufacturing data packs
- Managing engineering changes, component obsolescence and design updates for legacy equipment
- Producing detailed technical reports and feeding improvements back into engineering and manufacturing teams
This Field Service Engineer position offers genuine variety, combining manufacturing support with site-based engineering work on specialist equipment used onboard ships and submarines. When not travelling, the Field Service Engineer will work closely with production, testing and engineering teams to support live projects and repeat-build equipment.

To be considered for this Field Service Engineer role, you will need:
- Experience fault-finding, testing and maintaining electrical or electromechanical equipment
- A good understanding of electrical systems including motor control, power distribution and transformers
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and complex wiring diagrams
- Experience providing technical support to customers, engineers or production teams
- Confidence working independently on customer sites and travelling throughout the UK
- Full UK driving licence and eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC)
What They Can Offer You
As the new Field Service Engineer, you can expect:
- Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
- 37.25-hour week, Monday to Thursday 8:15am-5:00pm and Friday 8:15am-12:30pm
- 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
