Our client is an ambitious and expanding property management business based in Liverpool City Centre, managing a diverse portfolio of residential developments across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Head Of Accounts, ideally within the property sector, to lead their service charge account functions and oversee the day-to-day work of their block accounts team.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the accurate and timely preparation of service charge accounts, financial reporting, reconciliations and client money controls. You’ll also be expected to manage and support the accounts administration team who are responsible for invoice processing, supplier queries, payment runs and historic account balances.


What You'll Be Doing

• Leading, managing and developing the block and service charge accounts team.
• Preparing, reviewing and finalising annual service charge accounts.
• Ensuring accounts are completed within the required timescales.
• Reviewing monthly accruals, pre-payments and financial reconciliations.
• Managing the year-end accounts process and liaising with external accountants and auditors.
• Assisting in the auditing process by attending internal, client and auditor meetings to resolve queries and finalise accounts.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Head Of Accounts in Property and residential service charge accounting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using accounting software such as Xero.
• Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience status.

Desirable Experience:

Experience within property management, block management or residential property would be highly advantageous and to have knowledge of the following:

• Using Resident property management software.
• Working within block management or managing agent environment.
• Using intercompany invoicing and multi-company accounting.
• Previous involvement in improving finance systems and procedures.
