Warehouse Administrator
£13.45 per hour
8am to 1pm Monday to Friday
Manchester City Centre
Temp to perm contract


We have an exciting opportunity with a leading fabric distribution company that are looking for an organised Warehouse Administrator to join the busy Manchester City Centre team.
You will manage the digital systems and logistics documentation that drive the textile supply chain. This role connects our administrative functions with the physical storage and distribution of premium fabrics to clients across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Fabric Inventory & Data Management

  • Update systems: Input all fabric batch data, dye lot numbers, and meterage measurements into the Warehouse Management System.
  • Track stock: Monitor real-time fabric inventory levels and manage location codes for various fabric rolls and bolts.
  • Reconcile data: Identify and resolve discrepancies between physical fabric counts and digital inventory records.

Order Processing & Logistics Documentation

  • Prepare paperwork: Generate pick lists, cutting sheets, packing notes, and shipping labels for daily orders.
  • Handle distribution: Coordinate shipping paperwork with major couriers and pallet networks for UK and international transit.
  • Process returns: Manage customer fabric return requests, inspect logged issues, and process replacements or credits.

Communication & Coordination

  • Liaise with carriers: Book delivery slots and coordinate collection times with transport providers in Manchester city centre.
  • Support sales: Keep internal sales and customer service teams updated on stock availability, transit delays, and lead times.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous administration experience within a logistics, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and specialized inventory or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Attention to detail: Ability to track complex stock attributes accurately, such as fabric compositions, dye lots, and dimensions.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with couriers and internal design teams.

Work Environment

  • Location: Office-based within our central Manchester warehouse facility.
  • Hours: Standard daytime shift, Monday to Friday.
