Assistant Management Accountant 

RECfinancial are looking to recruit an organised and detail-focused Assistant Management Accountant to join a successful finance team for a maternity cover.  Working on a full-time basis Monday to Friday

Commutable from Ashby, Coalville, Loughborough and greater Leicestershire

Reporting to the Finance Director and supporting the Management Accounts function, you will play an important role in the preparation of monthly management accounts, fixed asset accounting, and a variety of financial reporting activities.

This is a varied opportunity within a large and busy organisation, offering excellent exposure to month-end processes, fixed assets, stock, projects, and year-end activities.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Management Accountant role include:

  • Maintain and manage the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Place Capex orders as required.
  • Add new assets to the system when received.
  • Process asset invoices and additions.
  • Process asset disposals, including raising sales invoices and recording disposals.
  • Complete the monthly fixed asset month-end process.
  • Make ad-hoc adjustments to Fixed Asset Register records.
  • Process EU and non-EU imports.
  • Maintain accurate filing and documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for five depots, including supporting commentary and notes.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including asset and stock reconciliations.
  • Process accruals and prepayments.
  • Prepare income reports and stock sheets.
  • Assist with the year-end process and respond to audit requests.
  • Support the Finance Director and Management Accounts team with ad-hoc projects and tasks.

The successful Assistant Management Accountant will ideally have:

  • Previous experience supporting month-end management accounts within a large organisation.
  • Experience of fixed asset accounting would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Confidence working with financial systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • A positive, reliable, and proactive approach.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider finance team.
