Senior Hardware Engineer/ Technical Lead
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join an innovative technology business developing advanced electronic products.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role, offering significant autonomy and ownership across the full product lifecycle, from concept and architecture through to design, test, manufacture and product release.
Working within a small, highly skilled engineering team, you will lead the design and development of new products, support and improve existing designs, and act as the technical lead on a range of cutting-edge projects. You'll work closely with external design partners, PCB contractors and manufacturing partners to ensure successful project delivery.
This role would suit a proactive engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and wants to remain technically hands-on whilst providing engineering leadership.
Key Responsibilities as Senior Electronics Engineer:
- Lead electronic product development from concept through to production.
- Define system architectures and electronic designs for new products.
- Design, simulate and verify mixed-signal electronic circuits.
- Produce schematics, PCB designs and technical documentation.
- Support prototype build, test, validation and regulatory compliance activities.
- Troubleshoot, improve and maintain existing electronic designs.
- Work with external PCB designers and contract manufacturers.
- Support production, test and calibration activities.
- Drive design-for-manufacture, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering projects.
You will likely be an experienced electronics engineer with a strong background in mixed-signal design and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
To succeed, you will ideally have:
- A degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- In depth experience in electronics design and development.
- Strong mixed-signal design experience
- Experience designing low-noise, high-performance electronic systems.
- Hands-on experience with schematic capture, PCB design and circuit simulation tools.
- Experience using Altium Designer or similar package (OrCAD, EAGLE etc)
- Strong understanding of system architecture and product development.
- Experience with high-speed ADCs, signal conditioning and data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with laboratory test equipment
- Experience supporting products through testing, validation and manufacture.
- Excellent communication skills and a methodical approach to problem solving.
In return you will have the opportunity to undertake a highly autonomous role with full project ownership.
Hours - Monday – Friday, Flexible start/finish times, primarily site-based, with some hybrid flexibility.
