Branch Manager – Social Housing Repairs & Maintenance
Location: Exeter
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Flexible working available once embedded into the role
Build Recruitment is representing a leading social housing contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Branch Manager to oversee the successful delivery of social housing repairs and maintenance contracts from their Exeter operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional with strong operational and commercial experience to take responsibility for the overall performance of a branch, leading teams and ensuring high-quality service delivery across social housing maintenance and repairs contracts.
You’ll play a key leadership role within the organisation, with responsibility for people, performance, customer satisfaction and commercial results.
The RoleAs Branch Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of the Exeter branch, overseeing the delivery of social housing repairs and maintenance contracts.
You will lead and develop operational teams, manage client relationships and ensure contracts are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Working closely with senior management, clients and operational teams, you will drive performance, identify opportunities for improvement and ensure the branch delivers excellent outcomes for both clients and residents.
Key Responsibilities- Take overall responsibility for the performance and day-to-day operation of the Exeter branch.
- Lead, manage and develop operational teams delivering social housing repairs and maintenance.
- Oversee contract delivery, programmes, resources and operational performance.
- Take ownership of P&L, budgets, costs and commercial performance.
- Monitor KPIs, WIP, productivity, customer satisfaction and contractual targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Attend client and performance meetings, providing clear operational and commercial updates.
- Ensure Health & Safety, compliance and contractual requirements are consistently maintained.
- Manage resources and subcontractors to ensure effective service delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and customer outcomes.
- Support the growth and development of the branch and wider business.
- Lead by example, creating a positive culture focused on performance, accountability and customer service.
- Proven experience within social housing repairs, maintenance or property services.
- Strong operational management and leadership experience.
- Experience managing teams, resources and multiple workstreams.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience of P&L and budget responsibility.
- Good understanding of contract performance, KPIs and customer-focused service delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive and commercially minded approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
