We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Trader to join a housing maintenance team covering Winchester and surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled multi trader looking for long-term, stable work with the opportunity to move into a permanent position. You will be carrying out responsive repairs and general maintenance across domestic and social housing properties, working in both occupied and void properties.

The successful candidate will be confident completing a range of general maintenance tasks, with the ability to work independently while providing a professional and customer-focused service to residents.

As a Multi Trader, you will be responsible for attending properties to complete a variety of responsive repairs, maintenance and multi-trade works.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Carrying out general maintenance and responsive repairs within domestic and social housing properties
• Completing a variety of multi-trade repairs based on your core skills
• Carrying out minor carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating works
• Completing patch repairs and making good following maintenance works
• Carrying out repairs within occupied properties while minimising disruption to residents
• Attending void properties to complete general repairs and maintenance
• Diagnosing faults and identifying the appropriate repair solution
• Ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
• Using a PDA/handheld device to receive jobs, update information and complete work records
• Managing your own daily workload and completing jobs within agreed timescales
• Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
• Providing excellent customer service when dealing with tenants and residents

As you will be working directly in residents' homes, a professional and respectful approach is essential.

You will be expected to communicate clearly with tenants, explain works where required, protect residents' belongings and leave properties clean and tidy once works are completed.

We are open to candidates from a range of trade backgrounds who have strong multi-skilled maintenance experience.

Previous experience working within social housing, housing associations, council properties, MOD properties or domestic maintenance would be highly advantageous.

• Previous experience carrying out general property maintenance or multi-trade repairs
• Strong practical trade skills
• Experience working within domestic properties
• Social housing or housing association experience preferred
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to use a PDA or mobile device to manage jobs
