Job Description:

Account Manager (Technical FM) – Critical & Broadcast Environments
Chiswick, London Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm

We're recruiting an Account Manager to take ownership of Facilities Management delivery across a high-profile media and broadcast campus in Chiswick. This is a technically demanding, client-facing role suited to someone who understands critical infrastructure as well as they understand people and contracts.

This isn't a traditional FM management role. The client operates a live broadcast environment where uptime is non-negotiable, so the Account Manager needs real engineering credibility alongside strong commercial and stakeholder skills - someone equally comfortable in a plant room and a boardroom.

The role

As Account Manager, you'll lead a team of 9 engineers and 1 contract support, taking full responsibility for operational performance, compliance and customer satisfaction across the account. You'll manage the P&L, oversee PPM and reactive maintenance, and act as the main point of contact and escalation for a client that is highly technical and demanding.

Key responsibilities for the Account Manager include:

  • Full leadership of the FM account, including budgets, forecasting and commercial performance
  • Ensuring safe, compliant operation of critical building services and technical infrastructure
  • Leading PPM, reactive maintenance, lifecycle planning and project delivery
  • Managing business continuity and risk across critical systems
  • Building trusted relationships with client stakeholders and acting as their escalation point
  • Driving contract performance against KPIs and SLAs
  • Leading, coaching and developing a multi-disciplinary technical team
  • Supporting incident investigation and root cause analysis within a live operational environment

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as an Account Manager, Contracts Manager or senior Engineering Manager within Facilities Management
  • A strong technical background in Building Services, Electrical, Mechanical or Critical Engineering
  • Experience managing critical or high-availability environments — data centres, broadcast facilities, studios or similar
  • Working knowledge of power distribution, UPS, standby generation, cooling systems and BMS
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing operational budgets
  • Excellent knowledge of statutory compliance and health & safety legislation
  • A confident, credible communicator able to manage senior client relationships

Desirable

  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering or Building Services
  • IWFM, CIBSE or relevant industry membership

This is a rare opportunity for an Account Manager to step into a genuinely technical, high-profile contract where no two days look the same. If you have the engineering depth and the client-facing polish to match, we'd like to hear from you.
