Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction business delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes across a range of social housing clients.
The role will focus predominantly on external planned works, with responsibility for the commercial management of contracts valued at approximately £2m per annum.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong planned maintenance background who is looking to take ownership of a contract and play a key role in its commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the commercial performance of planned maintenance contracts from start through to completion.
- Take responsibility for contracts with an annual value of approximately £2m.
- Manage costs, budgets, valuations, variations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Monitor project expenditure and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Prepare and maintain accurate cost reports and forecasts.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payments.
- Review and agree variations and additional works.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- Attend client and project meetings where required.
- Undertake regular site visits to monitor progress and support the commercial delivery of works.
- Ensure contractual and commercial processes are followed effectively.
- Provide accurate financial information and reporting to senior management.
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with proven planned maintenance experience, ideally gained within a social housing environment.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience working for a Tier 1/Tier 2 contractor delivering planned works programmes.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within planned maintenance / refurbishment.
- Experience working across social housing contracts.
- Knowledge of external planned works and refurbishment programmes.
- Experience managing contracts of around £2m.
- Strong commercial and financial management skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work independently while working closely with operational and senior management teams.
- A willingness to work 5 days per week in the office or on site.
- A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to undertake regular site visits
