We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction business delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes across a range of social housing clients.

The role will focus predominantly on external planned works, with responsibility for the commercial management of contracts valued at approximately £2m per annum.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong planned maintenance background who is looking to take ownership of a contract and play a key role in its commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the commercial performance of planned maintenance contracts from start through to completion.
  • Take responsibility for contracts with an annual value of approximately £2m.
  • Manage costs, budgets, valuations, variations, applications for payment and final accounts.
  • Monitor project expenditure and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate cost reports and forecasts.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payments.
  • Review and agree variations and additional works.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
  • Attend client and project meetings where required.
  • Undertake regular site visits to monitor progress and support the commercial delivery of works.
  • Ensure contractual and commercial processes are followed effectively.
  • Provide accurate financial information and reporting to senior management.
About You

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with proven planned maintenance experience, ideally gained within a social housing environment.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working for a Tier 1/Tier 2 contractor delivering planned works programmes.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within planned maintenance / refurbishment.
  • Experience working across social housing contracts.
  • Knowledge of external planned works and refurbishment programmes.
  • Experience managing contracts of around £2m.
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while working closely with operational and senior management teams.
  • A willingness to work 5 days per week in the office or on site.
  • A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to undertake regular site visits
