Health, Safety & Environmental Manager

Location: Leamington Spa
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

We are recruiting an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Manager for a busy manufacturing site in Leamington Spa.

This is a hands-on, shopfloor-focused role with responsibility for driving HSE standards, compliance and safety culture across manufacturing, assembly, warehouse/logistics and maintenance operations.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver the site HSE strategy and improvement plan.
  • Provide visible safety leadership and coach managers and employees.
  • Maintain and improve the ISO 45001 management system.
  • Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation, including PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, MHSWR and Fire Safety.
  • Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections and corrective actions.
  • Oversee machinery safety, LOTO, manual handling, FLT/pedestrian safety and contractor controls.
  • Lead accident and near-miss investigations and drive sustainable corrective actions.
  • Use HSE data and leading indicators to identify and reduce risk.
  • Promote a proactive stop-work and continuous-learning safety culture.

 

About You
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (essential).
  • Proven HSE experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation.
  • Practical experience with ISO 45001.
  • Strong accident investigation and risk assessment skills.
  • Confident influencing and coaching people at all levels.
  • Practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach.

 

NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH membership and ISO 45001 auditing experience are desirable.
