Catering Assistant- Long term temporary and ongoing, part-time, starting September 2026

Our client is a welcoming Church of England primary school catering for pupils aged 4–11, located in Kennford, Exeter, and part of the Ivy Education Trust. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where pupils are supported to thrive both academically and personally.

Duties as Catering Assistant:
  • Assisting with food preparation and serving meals
  • Setting up and clearing dining areas
  • Maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Following food safety and hygiene procedures
  • Washing dishes and kitchen equipment
  • Supporting the catering team during busy service periods
  • Ensuring pupils receive a positive dining experience
Ideal Catering Assistant:
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Previous catering, kitchen, or food service experience desirable
  • Good understanding of food safety procedures
  • Reliable and punctual approach
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
