CNC Machinist

Birmingham 

Monday to Thursday 7-4 and up to 12 on a Friday plus overtime 1.5 for over time.

You will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating a range of advanced manufacturing equipment, including multi-axis CNC milling machines, wire EDM, and sinker EDM equipment.

Day Shift Hours opportunity for Overtime at time and a half

£17-20 Per Hour

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Program, set, and run wire EDM and sinker EDM machinery.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
• Manufacture components to tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes.
• Select suitable tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies.
• Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic fault finding.
• Collaborate with production teams to achieve delivery targets.
• Maintain excellent standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in CNC machining, wire EDM, and sinker EDM.
• Strong knowledge of precision engineering principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
• Experience working to extremely tight tolerances.
• CNC programming and CAM software knowledge.
• Confidence using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
