SEND Teaching Assistant - long-term, temporary and ongoing, full-time starting asap

SEND Teaching Assistant duties:

• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities on a one-to-one and small-group basis
• Assist the class teacher in adapting activities to meet individual learning needs
• Promote pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
• Support children with communication, social, emotional, and learning needs
• Help implement individual education and support plans
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND professionals, and parents where appropriate

Ideal Teaching Assistant:

• Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable
• Previous experience working within a school or educational setting is advantageous
• Understanding of a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH needs
• Patient, caring, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
