Electrical/Electronic Lecturer
Location: Enfield
Salary: £28,550 – £52,480 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Temporary, Ongoing
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical/Electronic Lecturer to join a Further Education college in Enfield on a temporary, ongoing basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical/electronic engineering professional who is passionate about teaching and supporting the next generation of engineers. The successful candidate will deliver engaging theoretical and practical teaching, helping learners develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and employability skills required for progression into further study or employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
- Teach both theoretical principles and practical workshop/laboratory sessions.
- Plan and prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and learning materials.
- Assess learner work in line with awarding body requirements.
- Monitor learner progress and provide constructive, developmental feedback.
- Support students to develop their technical and employability skills.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety within workshops and laboratories.
- Support quality assurance, standardisation and continuous improvement activities.
- Contribute technical expertise to the development of new and existing courses.
- Support trainees and other teaching/instructor staff where required.
- Maintain accurate learner and assessment records.
- Participate in relevant CPD and departmental development activities.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, such as Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge within Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Previous experience teaching the relevant subject area.
- Experience preparing students for formal assessments and examinations.
- Experience assessing and grading student work.
- Good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Good IT skills and the ability to use learning platforms and technology effectively.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a teaching team.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
Experience with systems such as Microsoft Teams, Moodle and ProMonitor would be advantageous.
Additional Information
The role is based in Enfield and will involve practical teaching within workshop and laboratory environments. The post is subject to the appropriate DBS checks and safeguarding requirements.
