Food Technician - Long-term temporary and ongoing, part-time, starting October 2026

Duties as a Food Technician:
  • Preparing ingredients, materials, and equipment for practical lessons
  • Supporting the delivery of Food Technology lessons
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment and ensuring resources are readily available
  • Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies when required
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
  • Cleaning and maintaining food preparation areas
  • Assisting teaching staff with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Supporting students during practical activities where appropriate
Ideal Food Technician:
  • Previous experience in a food preparation, catering, or technician role is desirable
  • Food Hygiene qualification is advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene procedures
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
