Year 5 Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Duties as a Year 5 Teaching Assistant:
  • Support pupils within a Year 5 classroom on a one-to-one and small-group basis
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum activities
  • Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials
  • Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
  • Promote positive behaviour and attitudes towards learning
  • Support pupils with varying learning needs to access the curriculum successfully
Ideal Year 5 Teaching Assistant:
  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable
  • Experience within a school or educational setting is advantageous
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Understanding of Key Stage 2 learning and development
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
