Manufacturing Engineer Portsmouth

We're partnering with an innovative engineering business developing specialist technology products for a global customer base. As part of their continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Manufacturing & NPI Engineer to act as the critical link between engineering, operations and external manufacturing partners.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer, NPI Engineer, Industrialisation Engineer or Production Engineer looking for a varied role where you'll have genuine ownership of processes, documentation, product introduction and continuous improvement activities. 

Working closely with Design, R&D and Operations teams, you'll take ownership of manufacturing processes and technical documentation, ensuring products move efficiently from development into production. You'll collaborate with external manufacturing partners, support engineering changes, drive process improvements and ensure robust production standards are maintained.This position offers a unique blend of manufacturing engineering, technical operations, product introduction and problem-solving, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple disciplines and influencing how products are built and delivered. 

• Own and maintain manufacturing documentation, SOPs and work instructions. 
• Support the transfer of new products from development into production. 
• Act as a key interface between engineering teams and manufacturing partners. 
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency and consistency. 
• Support tooling, fixtures and manufacturing process development.
• Investigate manufacturing and quality issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. 
• Support engineering change activities and ensure documentation and processes remain current. 
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to improve manufacturing readiness and operational performance.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience supporting products within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical documentation and process development experience.
• Exposure to NPI, production transfer or industrialisation activities.
• Continuous improvement and problem-solving capability.
• Experience working with engineering changes, manufacturing processes or quality investigations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across engineering, operations and supplier networks.
