Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
The Role – Manufacturing Engineer
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the industrialisation of manufacturing processes, introducing new equipment, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring production systems deliver products safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Working closely with manufacturing, quality and engineering teams, you will play a key role in process development, capacity planning, lean manufacturing activities, and the successful delivery of production engineering projects within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities – Manufacturing Engineer
- Design, specify, source and commission new production equipment and manufacturing systems.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on cycle times, process optimisation and waste reduction.
- Provide technical support to production and lead root cause analysis activities.
- Manage engineering changes and ensure compliance with change control procedures.
- Support project costing by providing manufacturing routes, process information and cost data.
- Prepare capital expenditure justifications for equipment and process improvement projects.
- Analyse downtime trends and develop long-term corrective actions.
- Conduct process risk assessments, PFMEAs and manufacturing readiness activities.
Requirements – Manufacturing Engineer
- HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering or Manufacturing discipline.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment such as aerospace, automotive, FMCG or similar.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, technical drawings and production layouts.
- Experience of Lean Manufacturing tools including Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 6S and Kanban.
- Knowledge of APQP methodologies including PFMEA, Control Plans and PPAPs..
- Experience within an ISO 9001 environment.
