Rate: Up to £32,000 per annum depending on experience 

Hours: Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:00 and Fri 07:30 to 12:30 - 37 hours per week

Rework Technician Role main responsibilities

1. Carry out SMT and through-hole rework, repair and modification activities on electronic assemblies.

2. Remove and replace surface-mount components, including fine-pitch devices and BGAs where trained

and authorised.

3. Complete engineering changes, customer modifications and product upgrades in accordance with

approved documentation.

4. Read and interpret drawings, assembly instructions, schematics and bills of materials.

5. Use soldering, rework, inspection and X-ray equipment to complete work to required standards.

6. Identify and report quality, process or product issues to support continuous improvement.

7. Maintain accurate records and comply with ESD, quality, housekeeping and health and safety

requirements.

8. Support assembly, inspection or testing activities as required to meet business needs.

Job role and scope

 

Reporting to the SMT and Test Supervisor, you will support production through the rework, repair, modification

 

and assembly of electronic products and printed circuit boards. Working from engineering documentation and

 

customer requirements, you will carry out precision soldering and component replacement activities while

 

ensuring the highest standards of quality, workmanship and reliability are maintained. You will work closely with

 

Production, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve defects and support customer delivery requirements.

 

 

 

Main responsibilities

Skills, knowledge & experience

 

Proven experience of SMT and through-hole soldering and rework.

 

Ability to solder and rework components down to 0201 package size.

 

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams and bills of materials.

 

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

 

Good understanding of ESD controls and electronic assembly standards.

 

Experience of BGA rework, track repairs, modifications or IPC standards would be advantageous.

Remuneration package

 

Salary Up to £32k per annum

 

Dependent on skills, knowledge & experience

 

Working hours Full time is 37 hours per week

 

Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:00 and Fri 07:30 to 12:30

 

Holiday 25 days plus Bank Holidays (includes Christmas shutdown)

 

Plus, up to 5 days for long service milestones (up to 30 days max)

 

Pension scheme Auto-enrolment with Peoples Pension: 3% Employer contribution
