We are currently recruiting for an Account Manager to take ownership of a high-profile facilities management portfolio across the North West and wider North of England.

This is a client-facing position managing a commercial portfolio with full responsibility for contract performance, commercial management and client relationships.

The role would suit someone from a Facilities Management, Building Services or M&E background who has the technical understanding to get into the detail of building performance, while also being commercially astute and confident managing senior client relationships.

You will take full ownership of a key portfolio of predominantly commercial office buildings, working closely with the client to ensure the highest levels of operational, technical and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Full P&L responsibility for a portfolio valued at approximately £2m per annum

• Managing and developing key client relationships at senior level

• Taking ownership of contract performance, financial performance and service delivery

• Working closely with operational and engineering teams across multiple sites

• Providing strong technical oversight across building services and M&E

• Understanding the detail of building systems and identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency

• Using data and performance information to drive decision-making and continuous improvement

• Holding regular client meetings and performance reviews

• Proactively identifying issues and opportunities before they become problems

• Managing both the highs and lows of the client relationship and taking ownership of outcomes

• Supporting additional opportunities and work across the wider portfolio

• Travelling to sites across Manchester, Newcastle and the wider North as required

We are looking for someone who combines technical knowledge, commercial awareness and excellent client management skills.

You may currently be working as an Account Manager, Contract Manager, Senior Contract Manager or similar.

You will ideally have:

• Strong experience within Facilities Management, Building Services or M&E

• Experience managing sizeable FM contracts or portfolios

• Previous responsibility for a P&L and commercial performance

• Strong understanding of building services and technical FM

• The ability to understand the technical detail behind building performance and energy efficiency

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• A proactive approach to client management and problem solving

• Strong commercial and data-driven decision-making skills
