HLTA – EAL & Interventions

Duties as an HLTA:

• Deliver targeted EAL support and intervention programmes
• Work with individual pupils and small groups across Key Stages 1 and 2
• Support pupils in developing confidence in spoken and written English
• Deliver literacy and numeracy intervention sessions
• Monitor and track pupil progress
• Liaise with teachers and SEND/EAL staff to support learning outcomes
• Occasionally cover lessons where required
• Help remove barriers to learning and promote pupil achievement

Ideal HLTA: 

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
• Previous experience working within a primary school setting
• Experience supporting EAL learners
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Ability to deliver targeted intervention programmes effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
