SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Full-Time Immediate Start Initially Until Christmas Potential Extension Until Easter

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with SEND
• Assist the pupil in accessing classroom learning and activities
• Support communication, emotional wellbeing, and social development
• Implement strategies provided by the class teacher and SENDCo
• Encourage independence and confidence
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Previous SEND experience is essential
• Experience supporting children on a one-to-one basis is desirable
• Patient, caring, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare practices
• Commitment to helping every child achieve their potential
