About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a 3.5T Driver / FLT Counterbalance Driver / Labourer to join an established engineering company based in Stoke-on-Trent

This is a varied, hands-on role combining 3.5T driving, forklift operation and general labouring duties within a busy engineering and manufacturing environment

The successful candidate will be reliable, physically fit and comfortable working across different areas of the business, supporting the smooth movement of materials, components and finished products.

Key Responsibilities

Drive company vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes

Carry out deliveries and collections as required.

Load and unload vehicles safely, ensuring goods are secure and protected.

Operate a counterbalance forklift truck to move materials, stock and equipment.

Load and unload deliveries using the FLT.

Move raw materials, components and finished products around the site.

Assist with loading and unloading engineering materials and equipment.

Carry out general labouring duties within the engineering environment.

Assist production and workshop teams when required.

Keep work areas, storage areas and the yard clean, tidy and organised.

Follow all company health & safety procedures and site rules.

Carry out daily vehicle and FLT checks and report any defects or issues.

Complete relevant paperwork and delivery documentation.

Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the engineering operation.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

A full UK driving licence with entitlement to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.

A valid Counterbalance FLT licence/certificate.

Previous experience driving a 3.5T vehicle.

Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift.

Experience working within, engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment.

Good awareness of health and safety procedures.

A practical and hands-on approach to work.

Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

A reliable, punctual and flexible attitude.

The ability to carry out manual handling and general labouring duties.

The Working Environment

You will be working within a busy engineering and manufacturing environment, supporting the movement of materials and products while assisting the wider production and workshop teams.

The role will involve a combination of driving, forklift operation, manual handling and general labouring, so a flexible approach and willingness to get involved in different tasks are essential.
